Hi Lisa. Thanks for the nice article. I am a Teal coach from China, working as an independent freelancer to support self-managing organizations. I love reading your articles from “Corporate Rebel”, “Medium”, as well as LinkedIn, for quite a long time actually. I have the intention to translate some of them into Chinese and publish them in social media we use here. We cannot access YouTube, Medium, LinkedIn, Substack without VPN actually. But I think some nice articles on “Teal” “Self-management” are very nice and I would like to provide access to them to Chinese enthusiasts and practitioners in the same “teal” field . I am the translator of Brent, Susan & Travis’ book “Lead Together” and also I have translated all the 130 episodes of Frederic Laloux’s “Insights for the Journey”. From time to time, I also translate articles from Joost from Corporate Rebel. The translated texts are always attributed to the original author and with links back to the original website. I hope you will be fine with it? (for example, the translated version of this post is: https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/qlOApFE54xd15X0rmNOjRQ)
Hi Laurence, nice to e-meet you! Thanks for reading my articles. I'm super happy for you to translate any of them into Chinese. The purpose is to spread these ideas and examples, so the more languages, the better! It seems like we have lots of mutual friends, too.
Great article! Another way I have heard of saying "Learn to discern between a problem to solve and a polarity to manage" is: "There are no solutions, only trade-offs." Both phrases get you out a right/wrong paradigm into more helpful discussions of values and context.

I like that! Simpler :) Also reminds me of the book 'Essentialism' and the even/over statements... My friend Jurriaan wrote a good post about that actually https://medium.com/the-ready/even-overs-the-prioritization-tool-that-brings-your-strategy-to-life-e4f28f2949ac
That's a great article. Thanks for sharing!
